Systems Metabolic Engineering and Systems Healthcare (SMESH) Laboratory

Systems Biology and Medicine Laboratory (SBML) is a part of SMESH Laboratory, which is a joint lab run together by Distinguished Professor Sang Yup Lee and Prof. Hyun Uk Kim. SMESH Laboratory is one of the two Cross-Generation Collaborative Labs ever opened at KAIST. SMESH Laboratory attempts to address three of the most demanding problems humans have faced:

1. Climate changes

2. Sustainability

3. Healthcare

SBML will closely collaborate with Metabolic and Biomolecular Engineering National Research Laboratory (MBEL) to tackle these problems.
